Newsletter for Amelia Earhart Week of August 28th

Dear Parents of Amelia Earhart,

1.  We had a great kickoff for our theme this year:  I can persevere, I won’t give up!  Mario and his friends made an appearance, and our students were able to take part in the movie premiere.  Here is a link to the video if you or your students would like to watch it.

2.  Parent Night for 6th grade Orchestra & Band students will be on August 30 from 6-7:30 pm at Centennial Middle School.

3.  See the attachments below for information on joining PTA!

4.  School Community Council (SCC) is a group of parents/school staff that work in conjunction to create safe schools (safe walking routes, safety in technology, etc.) and also oversee the Trustlands plan (how to spend about $65,000 given to the school from the state).  If you are interested, please email me ( ryanm@provo.edu) with a short description of your interest (why you would like to be part of it) by Sept. 10th.  See the Community Council web page for information on past SCC items at Amelia.

5.  Our after-school music theater program will start this next week.  Those interested, please email emmah@provo.edu if you haven’t already filled out a form.  See the Welcome to Amelia web page for a video about last year’s musical theater performance (go to the bottom of this page and click on “Lion King”).

Queridos padres de Amelia Earhart,

1. Tuvimos un gran comienzo para nuestro ema de este año: Puedo perseverar, ¡no me rendiré! Mario y sus amigos hicieron acto de presencia y nuestros alumnos pudieron participar en el estreno de la película. Aquí ienes un enlace al vídeo por si ú o us alumnos queréis verlo.

2. La Noche de Padres para los alumnos de 6º de Orquesta y Banda será el 30 de agosto de 6-7:30 pm en Centennial Middle School.

3. Vea los anexos abajo para información sobre cómo unirse al PTA.

4. El Consejo de la Comunidad Escolar (SCC) es un grupo de padres/personal de la escuela que rabajan en conjunto para crear escuelas seguras (rutas seguras para caminar, seguridad en ecnología, etc.) y ambién supervisan el plan Trustlands (cómo gastar alrededor de $65,000 dados a la escuela por el estado). Si usted está interesado, por favor envíeme un correo electrónico ( ryanm@provo.edu) con una breve descripción de su interés (por qué le gustaría ser parte de ella) por 10 de septiembre. 5. Nuestro programa extraescolar de eatro musical comenzará la semana que viene. Aquellos interesados, por favor envíen un correo electrónico a emmah@provo.edu si aún no han llenado un formulario.
