Newsletter for Amelia Earhart for the Week of August 21st

Parents of Amelia Earhart,

  1. Monday, August 21st, and Tuesday, August 22nd, are Early Out Days, with dismissal at 1:00 PM for Teacher/Parent meetings.
  2. Wednesday, August 23rd, is the first full day (8:30 – 3:20), and the regular schedule will continue moving forward (8:30 – 3:20 Monday – Thursday, and 8:30 – 1:30 Friday).
  3. Wednesday, August 23rd is also the first day of Kindergarten.  For parents dropping kids off, we will have fun signs, a balloon arch, and a grand entrance at the northwest corner of the school by the Kindergarten playground.  Make sure to get pictures with Amelia Earhart herself (or at least a look-alike mascot!).
  4. Friday, August 25th is a special day.  We will be kicking off our Theme for the year.  Find out what Mario and Perseverance have in common!  We will have many of our staff dressed up in costumes out front to take pictures with your kids.  Students are welcome to wear Mario clothes or can wear red (Mario), green (Luigi), or pink (Princess Peach) to be part of the celebration.  At 8:45, we will have the students walk down a red carpet and balloon arch into our Assembly to kick off our theme.  Parents are invited to stay for the red carpet walk and can stay for the assembly also if they’d like.   Please see the video below for a special announcement about this from Mario himself.
  5. As a reminder:  Please do not drop off kids before 8:00 AM.  Those dropped off between 8:00 – 8:10 must walk to the east breakfast doors to go into the cafeteria (no outside supervision at that time).  From 8:10 – 8:30, students can walk through the northeast or northwest doors and go to either the cafeteria (for breakfast) or the playground.  At 8:30, teachers will pick up students from the assigned spots on the south and west sides of the school.  The tardy bell rings at 8:40.

Padres de Amelia Earhart,

  1. Lunes, 21 de agosto, y martes, 22 de agosto, son Días de Salida Temprana, con salida a la 1:00 PM para reuniones de Maestros/Padres.
  2. Miércoles, 23 de agosto, es el primer día completo (8:30 – 3:20), y el horario regular continuará en adelante (8:30 – 3:20 Lunes – Jueves, y 8:30 – 1:30 Viernes).
  3. Miércoles, 23 de agosto es también el primer día de Kindergarten. Para los padres que dejan a los niños, tendremos señales divertidas, arco de globos, y una gran entrada en la esquina noroeste de la escuela por el patio de recreo de Kindergarten. Asegúrese de obtener fotos con la mismísima Amelia Earhart (¡o al menos una mascota parecida!).
  4. El viernes 25 de agosto es un día especial. Daremos el pistoletazo de salida a nuestro tema del año. Descubre qué tienen en común Mario y la perseverancia. Tendremos a muchos de nuestros empleados disfrazados en el frente para tomar fotos con sus hijos. A las 8:45, tendremos a los estudiantes caminar por una alfombra roja y un arco de globos en nuestra Asamblea para poner en marcha nuestro tema. Los padres están invitados a quedarse para el paseo por la alfombra roja, y pueden quedarse para la asamblea también si lo desean. Por favor, vea el vídeo a continuación para un anuncio especial sobre esto del propio Mario.  Los alumnos pueden vestirse con ropa de Mario, o bien de rojo (Mario), verde (Luigi) o rosa (Princesa Peach) para participar en la celebración.
  5. Como recordatorio: Por favor no deje a los niños antes de las 8:00 AM. Aquellos que sean dejados entre las 8:00 – 8:10 deben caminar hacia las puertas este del desayuno para entrar a la cafetería (no hay supervisión externa a esa hora). De 8:10 – 8:30 los estudiantes pueden caminar a través de las puertas del noreste o del noroeste e ir a la cafetería (para el desayuno) o al patio. A las 8:30, los profesores recogerán a los alumnos en los lugares asignados en los lados sur y oeste de la escuela. El timbre de retraso suena a las 8:40.
