Amelia Earhart Elementary School

Important Back to School Information

Parents of Amelia Earhart Elementary School,

  1. Back to School Night is on Tuesday, August 15th from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM.  It is open house style, so you can come anytime in that window.  The first day of school is on August 16th from 8:40 AM – 1:00 PM(for 1st -6th grade students).
  2. We will have Early Out at 1:00 PM on August 16th, 17th, 21st, and 22nd.  August 18th (Friday) will be the typical 1:30 PM Early Out.  Regular Schedule (8:40 – 3:20) starts on Wednesday, August 23rd.
  3. During the first 5 school day Early Outs, the 1st -6th grade teachers will be holding parent/student/teacher meetings for the purpose of:  Learning from parents about the needs of their children, giving 1:1 reading assessments to the child, and giving teachers a chance to share their classroom expectations.  You can sign up for these on Back to School Night, or you can sign up ahead of time using the Online School Scheduler (see attachments below for info).
  4. We encourage all families to apply for Free and Reduced Lunch.  Lunch prices have increased ($2.25 per day), but so have the qualifying requirements for this free program.  The allowed income amount to qualify is higher than most think, so apply and see if you can get the benefit.  Extra funding from the federal government for our school also is tied to the percent of our students that qualify.  Here’s a link to the online application.  A PDF application is attached below.
  5. See the fliers below for a part-time parent/child pre-school “Flight School” that is free and available for 3-4 year old kids in our boundaries.

  4. Animamos a todas las familias a solicitar almuerzo gratis y reducido. Los precios del almuerzo han aumentado (2.25 por día), pero también lo han hecho los requisitos para calificar para este programa gratuito.
