On November 4, 2024 we held a School Community Council meeting.  Below are the minutes:

• Welcome
  • Review last year’s Trustland Plan
  • Ryan reviewed the plan and goals.
  • Goal 1: Improve Acadience EOY to 74% of students will be proficient.
  • Goal 2: Math goal is 40% of students will be proficient on the State Math RISE assessment.
  • Reviewed Master Schedule to emphasize MTSS. Reviewed reading flowchart.
  • Talked about Waggle – got feedback that it’s good for younger kids, not as good for older kids.
• Discuss Safe Walking Routes and City Plans
  • Concerns. Biggest concern is the bend by the Finch’s farm (280 S).
  • Question about crossing at the crosswalk by the marquee. Where should kids cross on 280 S? Kids cross 280 on 2530, there is not a sidewalk on 280 from 2530 to 2470.
  • Need a stop sign on 280 at 2530 (at Finch’s farm).
  • Need red paint (50 ft) on 2530 (west side) immediately north and south of 200 S.
  • Need red paint (50 ft) on 280 S (south side) from 2530 to 2470.
  • Need a crossing light (flashing light) over the road on Center street at 2530 S.
• Beth brought up State Amendment B. Spoke in favor of Amendment B for school funding.
