Emma Kenny New First Grade Teacher
We are excited to welcome a new addition to our Amelia Earhart Elementary team this upcoming school year!
Emma Kenny joins us from Spring Creek Elementary, where she just completed her intern year teaching second grade. While she has experience teaching first and sixth grade, she’s especially thrilled to return to the energetic and joyful world of first grade. She looks forward to bringing her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to the students and families at Amelia.
She recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is fluent in Spanish and passionate about supporting multilingual learners and helping every student feel successful and valued in the classroom.
Outside of teaching, she enjoys baking and cooking, playing pickleball and volleyball, taking long walks outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. She has a growing list of places she’d like to travel to—Central and South America are at the top, and she hopes to explore Europe and New Zealand someday.
Her favorite educational quote, “There is no comfort in the growth zone and there is no growth in the comfort zone,” reflects her belief in pushing boundaries and creating a classroom environment where students feel safe to learn, try new things, and grow.
We are so glad to have her join our Amelia Earhart family and can’t wait for all the exciting things ahead in first grade!
