Congratulations to the 4th-grade Book Bombers & 6th-grade Mysterious BOB Society teams!

Do you know which character loves to tell people she lost her arms wrestling an alligator?  If you know it is Aven Green from the book Insignificant Events in the Life of a Catcus by Dusti Bowling, then you may be on a Battle of the Books team. At the beginning of the school year, members of the self-selected student teams split up the Battle of the Books book list and committed to each other to read specific titles. The team members also quiz each other with various questions, preparing to know the answers, the book title, and the author’s name for the team competitions.

This week, upper elementary teams battled each other to advance to the PCSD districtwide Battle of the Books competition, which will be held on Tuesday, April 15th, at Provo High Auditorium.

The winning 4th grade team, the Book Bombers, will need to arrive at 4:15 p.m., with the competition starting at 4:30 p.m. The winning 6th grade team, the Mysterious BOB Society, will need to arrive at 5:45 p.m., with the competition beginning at 6:00 p.m.

How about one more question? What does Joe feel when he touches a baseball card? Answer: A strange tingling sensation all over his body from Honus and Me by Dan Gutman.

Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Roberts conduct a book battle round during the week of March 24-28, 2025.
