New Fourth Grade Teacher Melissa Maloney
We are delighted to welcome Melissa Maloney to the Amelia Earhart Elementary team as a fourth-grade teacher for the upcoming school year!
Mrs. Maloney comes to us with seven years of experience teaching fourth grade at Legacy Elementary in St. George, Utah. Her classroom motto, “Work Hard & Be Kind,” reflects her commitment to fostering a positive, supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow and succeed.
A graduate of Dixie State University, Mrs. Maloney holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an ESL endorsement. She is passionate about lifelong learning and professional growth and is working toward her Teacher Leader/Coaching endorsement. She has attended various educational conferences and credits a course with renowned educator Anita Archer as one of the most influential in shaping her approach to instruction. Her use of the principle “Everyone Does Everything” reflects her belief in full student participation and inclusive learning.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Maloney enjoys relaxing with a good book or a creative craft project—usually with Taylor Swift playing in the background. She also loves exploring local farmers’ markets, record stores, and cozy cafes. Sushi is a favorite treat. Spending quality time with her family and friends is what she values most. Of her three children (ages 21, 18, and 16), her youngest still lives at home, making family moments all the more meaningful.
Mrs. Maloney looks forward to her move to Utah Valley and is excited to join the Amelia Earhart Elementary community. We are thrilled to have her on board and know she will bring warmth, experience, and enthusiasm to our fourth-grade team!
