The Earhart Literacy Committee will launch their March two book selections on Friday, February 28.  Encourage your students to bring home the books to read individually or as a family.

Jamari Jumps – K-3

Are you ever afraid to do something?  In the book Jambari Jumps the author, Gaia Cornwall, shares her personal experience about overcoming her fear of the jumping off the diving board into the pool. This is an excellent book to talk to our lower grade students about:

  • What it does it mean to be brave.
  • How can others help support us as we take risks?
  • How to persevere and overcome fear?

It is normal to be afraid, nervous, and scared when trying new things.  Jamari Jumps is story for all ages.

Spy School – Grades 4-6

The upper grade Spy School by Stuart Gibbs book launch sent students through a series of clues and codes to get to know Ben Ripley, a teenage recruit to the CIA’s Academy of Espionage. Ben, a math genius, finds himself surrounded by ninjas, double agents, and incredible peer pressure to hack into the computer mainframe.

  • Does Ben pass his classes?
  • Does he stay alive to move to the next grade?
  • Does Ben and his fellow students save the school?

Read Spy School bhy Stuart Gibbs to find out!
