Parents of Amelia Earhart,

Our first and most important goal in the drop off and pick up procedures before and after school is student safety.  We have taken some feedback, and discussed some options to help increase the flow and maintain our safety goal.  Please see the attached map for the details.  I will highlight some key points:

1.  The drop off on the north side will remain the same.  Cars will drop off/pick up along the sidewalk of the north boundary of the school.  The middle lane is used to leave or pull past cars picking up/ dropping off.  Please do not have students exit your car from the middle lane, as this is a danger crossing in front of other cars.

2.  We will have a staff supervising the northwest door, thus allowing students to enter that door (between 8:00 – 8:30), and walk south through the halls, for quicker access to the playground for those students who are not eating breakfast at school.

3.  If a student arrives after 8:30, please have them come through the main entrance, and go straight to their class.  If they arrive after 8:40, they will check in at the office before going to class.

4.  For those students who are eating breakfast, or for 5th – 6th grade students going to their line up areas in the morning, access will still be allowed through the northeast doors to walk south down that hall to breakfast or to the south side of the school for lining up or playground access.  (The green numbers on the map represent where grades line up to go into school with their teachers at 8:30).

5.  Please do not enter the bus drop-off area.  This is only for busses, and it is not safe for dropping-off students by car.

6.  Students who are walking to school from the south of school boundaries may choose to cross at the southeast corner of the School Property.  We will have a crossing guard in the morning to make sure that there are no concerns with busses leaving, and students crossing.  We ask that you don’t drop off students in this area with cars (please use the north drop off areas), but students walking from those neighborhoods will have easier access through this route.

7.  Please make sure that any students crossing 2530 use the crosswalk by the school Marquee.

8.  For parents parking at the church parking lot, please note that students are not allowed to cross 200 south to the church parking lot unless accompanied by a parent/guardian or using the crosswalk by the marquee.  Again, this is a safety precaution as many cars are driving both ways on this street.

Nuestra primera y más importante meta en los procedimientos de dejar y recoger antes y después de la escuela es la seguridad de los estudiantes. Hemos recibido algunos comentarios y analizado algunas opciones para ayudar a aumentar el flujo y mantener nuestro objetivo de seguridad. Consulte el mapa adjunto para obtener más detalles. 4. 5. Por favor no ingrese al área de bajada del autobús. Esto es solo para autobuses y no es seguro dejar a los estudiantes en automóvil.

6. Los estudiantes que caminan a la escuela desde el sur de los límites de la escuela pueden optar por cruzar en la esquina sureste de la propiedad escolar. Tendremos un guardia de cruce en la mañana para asegurarnos de que no haya preocupaciones con los autobuses que salen y los estudiantes que cruzan. Le pedimos que no deje a los estudiantes en esta área con automóviles (utilice las áreas de entrega del norte), pero los estudiantes que caminan desde esos vecindarios tendrán un acceso más fácil a través de esta ruta.

7. Por favor asegúrese de que cualquier estudiante que cruce la 2530 use el paso de peatones junto a la marquesina de la escuela.

8.
